Measures within the framework of the State Program for Democracy, Diversity, and Openness to the World

The state program for democracy, diversity, and openness to the world in Saxony-Anhalt supports non-profit associations, organizations, and public institutions in projects within the funding areas of culture, media, and sports. The goal is to strengthen democratic thinking and to reduce discrimination, racism, anti-Semitism, and anti-democratic attitudes. As a grant, the funding covers up to 90% of eligible expenses. Eligible for funding are legal entities based in Saxony-Anhalt that work with participants predominantly residing in Saxony-Anhalt. Applications are generally submitted by October 31 of the previous year for projects in the first half of the year or by April 30 of the project year for initiatives starting from July 1. A project start is planned from January 1, 2025.

Required for approval are, among other documents, the funding guidelines, the application form, a detailed cost and financing plan, a travel expense report, proof of fund requests, an indicator sheet, and evidence of signing authority. Close cooperation with the Saxony-Anhalt State Administration Office in evaluation, documentation, and public relations is expected. Furthermore, an active commitment to the values of the Basic Law is a prerequisite. The Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, and Equality of Saxony-Anhalt supports the application process and provides professional supervision. Interested organizations can prepare early for the application process to implement innovative measures for more democracy, diversity, and openness to the world.
