Description
The funding program of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate supports innovative integration projects that have an impact beyond the regional level and serve as pioneering models for integrative measures. It is aimed at educational institutions as well as public institutions and enables associations, initiatives, or federations to plan projects that sustainably improve the integration opportunities of immigrants. Eligible measures particularly include the accompaniment and support of young adults, adolescents, and youth with a migration background, with projects aimed at strengthening tolerance and mutual understanding between immigrants and the host society also being a focus. The funding is provided as a grant and covers verifiable personnel costs, fees for consulting, educational, moderating, and coordinating activities, travel expenses, rental costs for premises, material costs, as well as an administrative cost allowance.
Within the framework of this program, new approaches in integration policy are supported that enable the implementation of supra-regional objectives with clearly defined measures. Applicants must submit a meaningful concept as well as a detailed cost and financing plan, in which, in addition to the initial situation and specific needs, the objectives, target groups, and planned measures are comprehensibly presented. Funding is granted on the condition that at least 10 percent of the eligible costs are demonstrated as own funds or through third-party funds. Furthermore, it must be ensured that the application is submitted at least four to six weeks before the planned project start, as projects that have already begun are excluded from funding. This clear structuring supports the recognition of projects that pursue innovative paths of integration and make a sustainable contribution to social participation.
The program serves as a central initiative of the Ministry for Family, Women, Culture and Integration of Rhineland-Palatinate and exemplifies the strategic promotion of integration projects. It places an emphasis on the development and updating of municipal integration concepts that have overarching effects and strengthen intercultural dialogue. In addition to the actual project funding, actors from various regions are also involved to promote social cohesion and civic engagement. Overall, this funding measure contributes to testing innovative solutions and thereby sustainably improving the quality of life of people with a migration background. Projects that prove to have model character can thus make a significant contribution to the positive development of integration policy.
