Description
The Master Craftsman Start-up Grant Saxony-Anhalt supports master craftsmen and craftswomen in the initial establishment or takeover of a craft business in the state. Investments and operating resources with a minimum net amount of €15,000 are eligible for funding. This includes the acquisition of machinery, tools, or other operational resources, but excludes structural infrastructure measures, cash expenses, personnel costs, or entrepreneurial remuneration. The funding is provided as a one-time grant of €10,000 and must be applied for at the responsible Chamber of Crafts before the project begins. Prerequisites include a completed master craftsman examination in the eligible craft, secured overall financing, and commencement of activity within twelve months after approval. The business must remain at the Saxony-Anhalt location for at least three years. The Chamber of Crafts reviews professional suitability and economic viability and forwards the application to the Investment Bank Saxony-Anhalt.
For the application, a comprehensive package of documents must be submitted, including, among others, a business plan, proof of own funds used, a statement from the Chamber of Crafts, as well as a de minimis declaration and documentation of authorization to represent. The guideline is valid until December 31, 2026, and applications can be submitted continuously. The aim of the grant is to secure sustainable full-time livelihoods in the craft sector, preserve master craftsman businesses, and strengthen regional economic strength.
