Championships and Competitions - Organization and Participation in Championships

The funding program "Championships and Competitions" of the Lower Saxony Lotto Sports Foundation supports Lower Saxony clubs and young athletes in organizing and participating in sporting events from the state level upwards. The goal is the sustainable strengthening of the sports location Lower Saxony and its clubs. Funding is provided for championships of supraregional significance from the association level as well as participation in German, European, and World Championships. Applicant organizations must prove their headquarters or registration in Lower Saxony; young athletes should be in training, studies, or school and demonstrate active competition participation.

A one-time grant of up to €8,000 can be applied for each project. Eligible costs include, among others, implementation expenses, necessary acquisitions, referee allowances, transport and travel costs, as well as supporting programs. Participating young athletes can also claim accommodation and lodging costs, entry and participation fees, and meal expenses. Excluded are general seasonal funding, training camps, club championships, and competitions without championship status. Applications can be submitted year-round; a funding decision can be expected within three to five weeks. The foundation recommends prior project consultation to optimize the chances of success and ensure that the project complies with the funding guidelines.
