Description

In Carinthia, there is the possibility to grant a monthly allowance amounting to 18% of the net standard rate for single persons receiving compensation supplements to people with disabilities who are fully accommodated in inpatient facilities and have no personal income or assets. This additional personal budget complements the legally prescribed social benefits and strengthens the daily lives of residents in various housing forms. The prerequisite is full inpatient accommodation according to § 13 para. 1 K-ChG and income as well as assets below 18% of the aforementioned standard rate. The funding is exclusively aimed at private individuals and is available to all applicants whose financial means do not exceed the specified maximum amount. The responsible body for the measure is Department 4 of the Carinthian State Government, which is also in charge of the ongoing approval and monitoring of disbursements.

Applications can be submitted at any time and are made informally via the e-government portal, municipalities, or district administrative authorities. Current proof of income as well as evidence of receipt of other transfer payments such as family allowance must be attached. Upon positive review, the allowance is paid as a grant, without any repayment obligation or additional costs for the beneficiaries. The funding is granted indefinitely and can be continuously claimed as long as the personal and financial requirements continue to be met. This model contributes to sustainably strengthening the self-determination and participation of people with disabilities in fully inpatient facilities by creating a reliable financial scope.
