Description

In Salzburg, an ongoing grant provides non-profit organizations with support for rental costs of disaster protection warehouses. The state covers 50% of the incurred rental costs for a warehouse in Viehhausen, where medical supplies and equipment are stored. The warehouse serves as a central depot for medical disaster protection and ensures the rapid availability of relief goods in emergencies. Eligible for funding are the Austrian Red Cross, Salzburg State Association (Disaster Department), as well as comparable disaster protection organizations within the state. As a continuous offer, applications can be submitted at any time, provided the organization acts in accordance with the General Guidelines of the State of Salzburg and claims exclusively rental costs.

For the application, extensive documentation must be submitted, including proof of the legal status of associations and organizations, the current business plan including budget and financial statements, as well as a detailed financing plan with total costs, own contributions, and other subsidies. Furthermore, a written declaration must be provided allowing inspection of accounting records and regulating reimbursement in case of misuse. An additional declaration pursuant to § 8 DSG 2000 authorizes the publication of name, address, and funding amount. The application of EU state aid law and the principle of gender mainstreaming must be observed. After one year, a final report of use with supporting documents must be submitted. Administration and review are carried out by the Office of the Salzburg State Government. With a funding rate of 50%, the grant significantly contributes to the stability and operational readiness of medical disaster protection structures.
