Description
The grant program “Migration Counseling for Adult Immigrants (MBE)” supports nationwide associations of independent welfare organizations as well as comparable organizations in providing needs-based counseling and support to adult immigrants aged 27 and older. The goal is linguistic, professional, and social integration through individual initial and case-by-case counseling according to socio-pedagogical standards, as well as through social group work. Funding is provided via a grant covering up to 90 percent of eligible total expenses. Ideally, recipients contribute ten percent of their own funds and ensure project-related success monitoring, including data collection and evaluation. A nationwide counseling offer, extensive experience in migration counseling, and the deployment of professionally and personally qualified full-time migration counselors are prerequisites. Cooperation with the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI), and other MBE providers forms the basis for effective integration work.
Interested associations must submit their application by November 15 for the following fiscal year; for initial contracts, approval by May 31 of the preceding year is required. The funding strengthens social cohesion by supporting adult immigrants in key areas of life and facilitating their independence in everyday life. Experienced recipients can use this program to expand their counseling capacities, further develop regional networks, and thus make an important contribution to participation and equal opportunities in Germany.
