Description
In Lower Saxony, sports clubs, specialist associations, and sports federations under the umbrella of members of the State Sports Federation receive financial support of up to €2,000 for one-day workshops and development formats aimed at sustainably strengthening voluntary engagement. With a funding rate of 80%, the program covers fees, personnel costs, and material expenses to test methods of recruiting personnel, offer qualification opportunities, and prepare club structures for the future. The spectrum includes thematic impulses on social participation, democratic coexistence, work & social affairs, as well as culture & media. Examples range from training sessions for member retention to innovative image projects and diversity-sensitive formats that specifically address underrepresented groups. Ongoing application opportunities enable short-term planning and rapid implementation of creative initiatives.
Interest groups or other clubs with membership in the State Sports Federation of Lower Saxony e. V. and a valid tax exemption certificate may submit funding applications at any time. A detailed microproject application including a financing plan, proof of State Sports Federation membership, and tax documentation is required. Eligible costs include fees, personnel costs, and material expenses in accordance with the guidelines, while alcoholic beverages, deposits, tips, vouchers, and self-invoices are excluded. Transparent accounting that clearly documents room rental expenses, catering, and travel costs based on mileage allowances ensures proper use of funds. Projects should only commence after the grant approval, as expenses incurred before the funding commitment will not be recognized. Through the clear funding structure and ongoing approvals, volunteers are empowered to implement innovative concepts efficiently and effectively in practice.
