Description

The STEM regions of the Körber Foundation promote regional networks nationwide that unlock the potential of young people in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology. Companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions in Germany, especially in Hamburg, can apply for financial participation as coordinators of STEM networks. The goal is to develop tailored, sustainable offerings – from practical days at research institutions to workshops for teachers and on-site student laboratories. The Körber Foundation continuously advises, networks, and qualifies the network coordination. It provides resources for personnel expenses in network coordination and subsidizes material costs for networking and qualification offerings. Only concepts with a high degree of innovation that have a long-term impact and are relevant to their target groups, especially schools and extracurricular learning venues, are funded. Applications can be submitted continuously, with no maximum duration.

Interested network coordinators can register online at any time and receive advice on strategy, quality development, and financing of their STEM region. Selection criteria include the innovation level of the network concept, its sustainability, and its relevance for teachers, students, and local STEM stakeholders. The Körber Foundation invites all actors to strengthen future skills locally by actively utilizing existing structures, establishing new collaborations with schools, companies, and research institutions, and thereby building an effective STEM education chain.
