Description
The mitKids active sponsorships of the Ehlerding Foundation connect volunteer sponsors with children aged two to nine from challenging family backgrounds in Bremen and Hamburg. Through regular meetings, trusting relationships are formed, in which shared activities, conversations, and creative endeavors provide the children with emotional security and promote their personal and social development. This individual sponsorship creates a stable framework in which children can discover new skills, build self-confidence, and sustainably improve their opportunities in education and everyday life.
Private individuals who are open, tolerant, and reliable, can dedicate three to four hours weekly to a child, and feel comfortable in their own lives, can continuously take on a sponsorship partnership. Interested sponsors are supported through a structured registration process and benefit from professional exchange and networking opportunities. Children residing in Bremen, Bremerhaven, or Hamburg, as well as those from challenging family situations, are eligible to apply at any time. Applications can be submitted without fixed deadlines, allowing potential sponsors and families to decide flexibly on participation. With this long-term support, the Ehlerding Foundation contributes to strengthening community and enabling children to experience lasting moments of happiness.
