Medium-Term Investment Program for Private Railways (MIP)

The Medium-Term Investment Program for Private Railways (MIP) represents a continuously available grant in Tyrol and aims at the expansion and modernization of the railway infrastructure of private railway companies. Private railways according to the Private Railways Act, which operate within the federal state of Tyrol, can submit applications at any time. Measures such as track renewals, modernization of station and operational facilities, as well as maintenance work that enable smooth and future-oriented railway operations are funded. With this program, the State of Tyrol underlines its commitment to securing sustainable mobility and regional accessibility in the long term.

Participants benefit from a flexible funding structure that covers both smaller investment projects and extensive renovation projects. Applications can be submitted continuously, thus supporting both short-term needs and long-term planning equally. Eligible to apply are private railways according to the Private Railways Act within the state of Tyrol that wish to optimize their projects with regard to operational safety and customer comfort. The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant, covering a significant portion of the investment costs.
