Participation in Disaster Control (Guidelines for Disaster Control Grants)

The funding program of the Free State of Saxony is aimed at non-profit organizations and public institutions engaged in disaster protection that wish to sustainably increase their operational readiness. It provides grants for the acquisition and maintenance of disaster protection equipment, the construction and furnishing of accommodation buildings, and the assumption of sponsorship for protection units. Furthermore, measures for age-appropriate youth work, the establishment of student first aid services, and further training through the acquisition of driving licenses (class C/CE) are supported. The funding is based on the guideline “Participation in Disaster Protection” and contributes to strengthening infrastructure, training, and recruitment of new personnel.

A prerequisite for funding is, among other things, the conclusion of a transfer agreement for equipment items listed in the SMI list, and for driving licenses, proof of an existing class B license as well as actual need. Applications must be submitted by November 30 for the following fiscal year; for driving license measures, the deadline is March 31 of the current year, as well as for construction measures for the next funding cycle. Approval is granted by the Saxony State Directorate, which provides advisory and auditing support during the application process and subsequent verification.
