Mobile Hospice Teams, Lower Austria

The State of Lower Austria provides grants within the framework of an ongoing funding initiative for mobile hospice teams that support non-profit organizations or public institutions in palliative care. These mobile hospice teams accompany palliative patients and their relatives at home, in nursing homes, or hospitals, working closely with general practitioners, social services, and hospitals. Their work centers on human interaction: through offering conversations, simply “being there,” and creating safe spaces for emotions such as fear, abandonment, or sadness, the mobile hospice teams enable compassionate support during times of farewell and mourning.
