Description
Mobile Personal Care and Support Services – Visiting Service in Vienna
Trained caregivers from the Vienna Social Fund accompany persons with physical or psychological impairments on weekdays to attend appointments with doctors, hairdressers, pharmacies, or banks. In addition to practical assistance with shopping and daily errands, the focus is on promoting social participation: conversations and encouragement towards independence enhance the well-being of the clients. As an open-ended subsidy program, since 01/01/2014 the FSW has supported private individuals residing in Vienna. The costs are paid directly to partner organizations that have been previously approved within an agreed payment procedure.
Eligibility Criteria and Application Procedure
Interested parties are private individuals of any age who are unable to leave their home independently due to their impairment and require accompaniment and visiting services. Funding requirements include main residence in Vienna, the presence of a physical or psychological impairment, and a written application to the FSW Customer Service. The application must be accompanied by the completed “FSW Application for Funding of Services,” the “General Funding Guidelines of the FSW,” and the “Specific Funding Guideline for Extramural Care and Support.” Since the service is granted indefinitely, an informal request without a deadline is sufficient. In this way, the Vienna Social Fund ensures an unbureaucratic and needs-based relief in everyday life as well as active inclusion in the community.
