Description
Mobility for People with Disabilities supports private individuals in Vienna who rely on barrier-free mobility services to access assisted living facilities, day programs, kindergartens, schools, or rehabilitation measures. As a permanent grant program, it covers all travel costs for public transportation, organizes a regular transport service with qualified accompaniment, reimburses official mileage allowances for car use, and enables individual travel training within the framework of a mobility concept. Billing is straightforward and mostly handled via a simplified payment process directly to service providers, so clients incur no personal effort. In the fields of social affairs, counseling, and work & social services, the 100% grant promotes self-determined and barrier-free participation in everyday life in Vienna.
Funding is provided for people with disabilities according to the Vienna CGW with main residence in Vienna, for whom no other cost bearer is responsible. Applicants must submit the fully completed application form, proof of disability, an official photo ID, Austrian citizenship or equivalence (§ 4 CGW), and for minors, the birth certificate. Needs assessment is conducted by the Fonds Soziales Wien, which reviews applications based on individually defined criteria and approves them promptly. Thanks to the continuous application possibility and the permanent funding framework, mobility needs can be met at any time. Comprehensive counseling by the Fonds Soziales Wien supports the selection and utilization of appropriate mobility services without personal costs.
