Description

The nationwide funding program supports model and demonstration projects aimed at the preservation and innovative, sustainable use of biological diversity. The program is managed by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and administered through the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE). Its objective is to develop, test, and publicly present new approaches and methods in agricultural and natural landscapes. Eligible applicants include companies, non-profit organizations, public and educational institutions, as well as cooperatives that already possess professional expertise and are active in the fields of environmental, nature, and climate protection.

Projects sought are those with a high degree of innovation, clear practical relevance, and good transferability to other regions. A convincing sustainability and utilization concept, as well as a demonstrated contribution to biological diversity, enhance the chances of evaluation. Applications must include a detailed project description, a financing plan, curricula vitae of the responsible specialists, and proof of technical and professional qualifications. Funding is provided as a grant, with selection based on clearly defined criteria: degree of innovation, practical relevance, contribution to biodiversity conservation, and sustainability strategy. Interested project partners can find further information on formal requirements in the application guidelines and in the instructions on reporting and accounting. This offer is aimed at all stakeholders wishing to develop exemplary solutions to strengthen and sustainably utilize natural biodiversity and seeks to generate impulses for sustainable agriculture and rural development.
