Description

The model project for the further development of long-term care insurance according to § 8 para. 3 SGB XI supports innovative projects, studies, scientific expert assessments, and professional conferences nationwide aimed at modernizing and ensuring the quality of care provision structures. Educational institutions, companies, interest groups, and other associations can apply as applicants for partial funding. With a maximum duration of 60 months, personnel costs, material expenses, travel and transportation costs, public relations, as well as fees and external services can be covered, while hospitality costs, income taxes, and reminder fees are excluded. A prerequisite is that the measures serve the further development of long-term care insurance, are innovative, meet scientific standards, have not yet begun, and consider sustainability and transferability.

The program's objective is the design and testing of forward-looking care models for individuals in need of care, those at risk of needing care, as well as their informal and formal caregivers. Measures in nursing care research are also funded, particularly with regard to user perspectives and health economic analyses. Evaluation criteria include the degree of innovation, scientific standards, sustainability, transferability, and relevance to the further development of long-term care insurance. Applications are two-stage: after submitting a project outline based on the official template, a request for a full project description, milestone planning, and cost and financing plan follows upon positive review. Funding inquiries can be submitted continuously, allowing promising concepts to enter the funding process without a fixed deadline.
