Description

The funding to support professional Salzburg orchestras, ensembles, and choirs, as well as selected amateur choirs, ensures the diversity and continuity of Salzburg’s musical life. Non-profit organizations, companies, interest groups, associations, and public institutions based in the city or state of Salzburg may apply for annual grants for artistically demanding programs. A special focus is placed on the promotion of church music with high artistic standards and youth work through innovative choir projects and the introduction of new choral literature. Within the framework of the annual choir funding call, a jury decides on the support of individual projects that impress through artistic quality, diversity, and forward-looking approaches.

A prerequisite for approval is a fully completed and signed application form including a detailed annual concept describing objectives, program profile, participants, and dates. A balanced financial plan with income and expenditure calculations, as well as, if applicable, an extract from the commercial register or association register and statutes for first-time applications or changes, must also be submitted. Evaluation criteria include the demanding program, the qualifications of the performing artists, the contribution to Salzburg’s cultural life, as well as the focus on youth work and innovative choral literature. Annual funding applications must be submitted by June 30 of each year; project and choir funding applications are subject to the respective current application deadlines. Accounting is carried out in accordance with the state guidelines using the proof of use by the agreed deadline.
