Description

The project and annual funding "Music Folk Culture" of the state of Carinthia supports legal entities as well as natural persons with a clear Carinthian connection in the realization of folk culture music projects. The focus is on traditional brass bands, music ensembles, choirs, and singing groups as well as cross-genre formats, such as encounters between choir and brass music. Eligible applicants can apply for productions of reproducing activities (concerts, festivals), training and further education measures, instrument and sheet music purchases, and the compensation of copyrights. Additionally, publications such as chronicles or commemorative publications are supported. A flexible submission procedure allows applications to be made at any time before the start of the project via the online form of Department 14 – Arts and Culture.

The funding is granted as subsidies and covers personnel expenses, material costs, teaching assignments, instrument acquisitions, technical equipment, as well as publication costs. A prerequisite is a fully completed application signed before the start of the project, a coherent financing plan, and compliance with the guidelines for the promotion of folk culture. The decision is based on artistic quality, Carinthian relevance, audience potential, and sustainable diversity of genres. After project completion, a financial and activity report must be submitted within the agreed deadline, including balanced original receipts and sample copies of promotional materials displaying the "Land Carinthia Folk Culture" logo. Funding recipients commit to the designated use of funds as well as to registering public events in the Carinthian event database to sustainably strengthen the transparency and visibility of folk culture music projects in the region.
