Description
The funding supports the retrofitting of an elevator in existing residential buildings with more than three housing units as well as in dormitories in Upper Austria. In addition to the elevator installation, all necessary construction work such as electrical, steel, and concrete installations to provide barrier-free access to each floor are also funded. The grant is provided in the form of a non-repayable subsidy amounting to 50% of the loan amount taken (maximum €15,000 per residential and basement floor) and can be increased by a barrier-free bonus of up to €10,000 per floor. Applications can be submitted continuously; early commencement of construction is possible upon request, but a legally binding building permit must be in place.
The measure is aimed at homeowners, condominium owner communities, and building rights holders with primary residence in Upper Austria. Application documents include, among others, the application form SGD-Wo/E-54, legally binding building permit, land register excerpt, approved construction and existing plans, as well as detailed cost estimates. Value-added tax is not eligible for funding. The disbursement of subsidies takes place semi-annually over the entire loan term (minimum 15, maximum 30 years), but no longer than until full repayment. This instrument increases living comfort and sustainably improves accessibility for all residents.
