Young Researcher Award for Applied Psychology (German Psychological Society Scholarship Foundation)

Since 2019, the German Psychological Society’s Study Foundation has been awarding the Nachwuchspreis for Applied Psychology, recognizing outstanding master’s theses with a prize of €2,000. Open nationwide to private applicants, the award targets psychology students whose theses of excellent quality link scientific questions in applied psychology with a specified thematic focus. The next award is scheduled for 2025, with the detailed theme published in advance on the Study Foundation’s website. As a form of prize, the program supports research & innovation as well as education and training by promoting particularly innovative theses and providing early-career researchers with a prestigious platform.

Eligibility criteria include a completed master’s degree in psychology, an excellent grade for the master’s thesis, and a clear connection to the specified thematic focus. Application materials are evaluated based on the criteria “quality of the master’s thesis” and “relevance to the thematic focus.” This selection process enables targeted support in the fields of science and innovation, making talents visible early on and strengthening networking within the professional community.
