Promotion of Young Athletes Excluding Football

The youth sports promotion excluding football is aimed at Viennese regional sports associations whose young athletes won an Austrian youth championship title or a Vienna championship title in the previous year. This continuously announced grant measure rewards outstanding achievements in all disciplines regulated by the City of Vienna, with the exception of football. The financial incentive is paid directly to the regional sports associations, thereby specifically supporting sports promotion in the City of Vienna. Through the recognition of the championship achievements by the Austrian Federal Sports Organization, the funding process gains transparency and fairness, providing a sustainable boost to youth sports.

A prerequisite for the grant is proof of the title won in the respective previous year as well as the recognition of the corresponding sport according to the announcement of the Viennese state government. Individual and team athletes may compete in multiple disciplines, but not in different age groups. The funding amounts vary depending on the title and discipline: An Austrian youth individual title is rewarded with €400, while team successes receive up to €4,000. Vienna individual titles are rewarded with up to €110 (female) or €90 (male), team successes with €1,100 for girls’ teams and €900 for boys’ teams. This tailored funding creates incentives for competitive youth sports and simultaneously strengthens the structures of the Viennese sports associations.
