National Anti-Doping Agency Austria Ltd., Federal Grant

The federal funds for financing the administrative costs of the National Anti-Doping Agency Austria GmbH (NADA Austria) support Austrian anti-doping efforts in elite, grassroots, and disabled sports as an independent doping control organization. Funding is provided in accordance with § 2 para. 1 no. 5 BSFG 2017 for the implementation of doping prevention measures, the organization and execution of doping controls, as well as the legal and professional support of all steps in the doping control process. NADA Austria receives an annual grant from the Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport as well as from the federal states of Burgenland, Carinthia, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Tyrol, Vorarlberg, and Vienna. The funding is unlimited in duration and can be applied for continuously.

A prerequisite for receiving the federal grant is the fulfillment of the tasks pursuant to § 2 para. 1 no. 5 BSFG 2017, compliance with the Anti-Doping Federal Act (ADBG 2021) (§§ 4 in conjunction with 5 para. 1 no. 2 and para. 5 ADBG 2021), as well as the approval of the annual budget by the general assembly of NADA Austria. Eligible for funding are in particular all administrative costs necessary to ensure smooth audit and control operations. This federal funding ensures that Austria meets its international obligations under the Council of Europe and UNESCO conventions and that athletes at all levels can compete in a clean and fair environment.
