Description
Nature Conservation Association Funding of the State of Salzburg is aimed at non-profit associations and other institutions that contribute to sustainable development in nature and species conservation through projects and educational measures. Projects in the areas of environmental and nature protection, energy efficiency, and climate protection are supported. A continuous submission option allows for precise planning, whereby the funding application must be submitted before the project begins. This support is exclusively available to non-profit entities, ensuring tailored financing of local nature conservation initiatives. The program aims to strengthen ecological structures and sustainably secure biodiversity to promote a future-oriented development of society. Funding is provided in accordance with the General Guidelines for the Granting of Funding by the State of Salzburg and takes into account the requirements of EU state aid law. As a grant, the program supports both traditional nature conservation initiatives and innovative environmental education projects, thereby strengthening a diverse range of actors in the State of Salzburg in the long term.
Eligible to apply are registered associations and non-profit organizations that submit a precise project description and provide a positive expert opinion from an official assessor. Upon positive decision by the Salzburg State Government, approval is granted as a subsidy. Submissions are possible year-round and must in any case be made before the implementation of the project. Payment is made after review of the proof of use, which includes original invoices and payment receipts. The proof of use should include, in addition to financial evidence, a presentation of goal achievement. A possible on-site check by officials of the Department of Nature and Environmental Protection ensures the appropriate use of funds. No costs are incurred for the application; reclaiming of funds may be triggered in case of misuse. Thus, the program promotes long-term commitment and well-founded nature conservation work in Salzburg.
