Description
The Brandenburg Nature Conservation Fund offers an attractive financing opportunity to support innovative projects in the field of environmental and nature conservation. With the aim of sustainably improving the natural diversity and ecological condition of the landscape in Brandenburg, the fund promotes measures that serve the protection, maintenance, and further development of nature and landscape. Funding is provided, for example, for the acquisition or leasing of properties particularly suitable for nature conservation, as well as for research projects and model investigations that can make an important contribution to the preservation of biodiversity. Funding is open to all project sponsors, such as private individuals, associations, municipalities, and other legal as well as natural persons, provided the planned measures have not yet begun.
Project applications can be submitted continuously if the requested funding amount does not exceed €150,000. If this amount is exceeded, a deadline of November 1 must be observed, after which the foundation board decides on the proposed grants. Applications are submitted using an application form, which must be accompanied by a detailed project description, a financing plan, and a professional statement or expert report. These documents should demonstrate the sustainability of the planned measures and show how the condition of nature and landscape in Brandenburg can be improved. It is ensured that only eligible projects – i.e., those to be implemented in the state of Brandenburg and not yet started – are considered.
Funding can be granted as a subsidy of up to €150,000 to support projects that strengthen the ecological added value of the state. Particular attention is paid to the long-term impact of the measures, so all projects must clearly demonstrate how they contribute to the preservation and improvement of the natural state. Non-eligible expenses include, for example, measures outside Brandenburg, institutional funding, projects already started, or purely environmental education and public relations activities. Through this clear focus, the fund helps ensure that resources are invested specifically in projects that address the ecological challenges of our time while simultaneously providing impetus for sustainable regional development.
