Large-Scale Nature Conservation Projects

The funding program "Large-Scale Nature Conservation Projects" supports initiatives nationwide that contribute to the permanent preservation and sustainable development of natural and cultural landscapes in Germany. Eligible for funding are projects whose eligible expenses consist of planning, implementation, and specific project costs. Applications can be submitted continuously, allowing interested parties to submit their project outlines and proposals at any time. In addition to proof of a registered office in Germany and the involvement of the responsible state authorities, all documents must comply with the current funding guidelines. The selection criteria—including representativeness, large-scale nature, closeness to nature, threat level, and exemplary feasibility—ensure a transparent and targeted evaluation of project ideas. The Federal Agency for Nature Conservation provides applicants with professional and budgetary advice to ensure the precise implementation of the measures.
