Description
The EU funding call Creative Europe Cross-sectoral Strand "NEWS – Media Literacy" targets companies, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, public bodies, and start-ups across the entire EU. It supports innovative, cross-border projects aimed at strengthening media literacy, enabling citizens to critically engage with disinformation and new media formats. The objective is to consolidate best practices, develop digital tools, and network proven concepts across various cultural and linguistic contexts. A particular focus lies on promoting social participation, democratic resilience, and supporting groups with limited access to media education offerings. Consortia from at least three participating countries can submit project ideas by 11 March 2026, 17:00 Brussels time, which demonstrate clear objectives and sustainable dissemination strategies.
Media education experts, cultural and creative organizations, as well as transnational consortia, benefit from this grant program if they present a coordinating institution in an EU member state or associated country and submit a coherent project outline including a financing plan, partnership agreements, and CVs of key personnel. Evaluation is based on innovation, relevance to media literacy promotion, quality and diversity of the consortium, sustainability of results, and effectiveness of the communication strategy. Upon positive assessment, funding will commence from December 2026. Interested project partners are advised to proactively seek suitable partner organizations early and develop a compelling, cross-border media literacy initiative.
