Next Generation Social

Next Generation Social offers young people between the ages of 16 and 25 free access to a four-month online program that broadens their perspective on social engagement. In a total of nine digital sessions and two central events, participants gain diverse insights into the work of social institutions – from homeless aid to addiction and hospice care, as well as correctional services and mental health care. Through moderated exchanges with professionals and those affected, a shift in perspective arises that not only informs but also inspires. Additionally, the program addresses current challenges to democracy: participants learn to recognize disinformation online and actively counter hate speech. A participation certificate documents the completed program and strengthens engagement in education or studies.

The next program series begins on March 19, 2026; registration will be possible at the beginning of 2026. The funding is available nationwide to individuals within the specified age range and is completely free of charge. The only participation requirement is being between 16 and 25 years old. Through the non-material support of the Patriotic Society of 1765, the offering enables networking and professional exchange without financial barriers. Participants who attend at least four content sessions as well as the kick-off and closing events will receive the certificate. With this flexible, digital format, Next Generation Social not only promotes individual skills but also contributes to social cohesion and the strengthening of democratic values.
