Description
Settlement grants for young farmers in Brandenburg and Berlin aim to increase the attractiveness of initial settlement and support sustainable business development in rural areas. As a lump-sum grant of €75,000 per farm, the funding is provided in three equal installments of €25,000 each over a period of 36 months. Eligible are founders who establish, purchase, or take over an agricultural enterprise either within or outside the family. The program particularly facilitates access to land and capital, promotes adequate incomes, diversification of farm structures, and strengthens intra- and extrafamilial farm succession.
Eligible applicants are micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) whose farm manager is no older than 40 years at the time of application and can demonstrate initial settlement within the last 36 months. Additional requirements include proof of professional qualification in the agricultural sector (training, degree, or at least two years of professional experience), a three-year formalized farm development plan with defined interim and final goals, as well as planned farm expenditures of at least €75,000 over three years. The main residence and the farm must be located in Brandenburg or Berlin. Applications can be submitted at any time via the digital application system Online Application Project Funding (IAP). The Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg (ILB) decides on approvals according to fixed selection deadlines.
