Lower Austria General Association Funding

The Lower Austria General Association Funding supports registered associations with an idealistic purpose in Lower Austria for projects that directly or indirectly contribute to fulfilling their association’s purpose and are not already funded by other specialized departments. Activities in the areas of social affairs, sports, education, culture, science, health, environmental/nature conservation as well as commitment to social cohesion and democracy are eligible for funding. The aim is to strengthen voluntary engagement and social cohesion in the public interest. Funding is provided as a grant amounting to up to 20% of eligible costs, with a maximum of €15,000, and is exclusively available to non-profit organizations. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis, enabling associations to gain timely planning security.

Eligible for funding are associations registered in the Central Association Register with their seat in Lower Austria, or associations whose projects are carried out in the state or whose majority of members come from Lower Austria. A prerequisite for a grant is the submission of the association’s statutes, a current annual financial statement or corresponding proof of assets, detailed cost estimates, as well as necessary approvals. Applications are to be submitted to the Finance Department (F1) of the Office of the Lower Austrian State Government. Upon completion of the project, proof of proper use must be provided by means of original invoices, an income and expenditure overview, and a factual report with documentation photos. This funding offer strengthens the grassroots work of associations and promotes innovative impulses for a vibrant association landscape in Lower Austria.
