Description
Within the framework of anti-nuclear activities anchored in the federal state of Lower Austria, projects and studies are supported that strengthen anti-nuclear policy and address, among other things, cross-border nuclear facilities, nuclear power plants, and storage sites for radioactive waste. Both natural and legal applicants are eligible for funding – ranging from private individuals and start-ups to companies, cooperatives, foundations, and public institutions, as well as non-profit organizations, interest groups, and other associations. Priority is given to projects in the fields of environmental and nature conservation, research & innovation, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection. Designed as a grant, the ongoing funding opportunity allows for flexible planning and implementation of individual or cooperative projects, including cross-border information initiatives with neighboring countries.
A prerequisite for a positive funding decision is the timely submission of an informal written application before the project starts, as well as proof of personnel, financial, and material capacities and the signing of a declaration of commitment. Application submission is free of charge; expenses for value-added tax are excluded. The application must include a project description with objectives and schedule, detailed cost calculations with cost estimates, a total cost statement including in-kind contributions, and a financing plan. Furthermore, declarations regarding already applied for or received public grants, information on VAT deduction eligibility, and, if applicable, official approvals must be provided. Legal applicants must attach proof of legal form and power of representation; for funding amounts over 10,000 euros, a current annual financial statement or proof of assets is required. After a positive review, payment is made depending on project progress, with amounts up to 5,000 euros transferred upon final proof of appropriate use of funds. Proper use must be documented by progress reports and original receipts; random on-site inspections by the funding agency or the Lower Austrian State Audit Office are possible. The funding program has been available indefinitely since 01.09.2017.
