Description
The grant from the Lower Austrian State Fisheries Association supports projects aimed at the preservation, protection, and restoration of waterbody-typical and species-rich populations of aquatic animals in Lower Austria. Non-profit organizations as well as public institutions may submit funding applications at any time and benefit from continuous project funding in the areas of environmental and nature conservation, research & innovation, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection. The goal is the sustainable strengthening of biodiversity in native waters through measures for monitoring conservation status, renaturation of natural habitats, and promotion of innovative research projects. The association bases its allocation of funds on the principles of thriftiness, economic efficiency, and appropriateness, and uses the revenues from fishing and fishing guest card fees exclusively to support fisheries, waterbody protection, and scientific investigations.
Eligible applicants include project sponsors such as fishery district associations, clubs, and research institutions with headquarters or activities in Lower Austria. A prerequisite for approval is a detailed funding application in accordance with the funding guidelines, a meaningful project description, as well as a cost and financing plan. Evaluation is based on economic efficiency, appropriateness, and relevance to species protection. The grant is intended to initiate voluntary measures that would not be realized without financial support. There is no legal entitlement to funding; submitting an application does not incur any fees. Further information on application documents and funding modalities is summarized in the funding guidelines of the Lower Austrian State Fisheries Association.
