Lower Austria Funding for Private Compulsory Schools and Boarding Schools

The Lower Austria funding for private compulsory schools and boarding schools supports sponsors of private educational institutions in Lower Austria with a non-repayable grant to cover financial deficits in school expenses. Funding is provided particularly for additional personnel costs, construction investments, and other material expenses not covered by the federal government under the Private School Act. The aim of the measure is to facilitate the fulfillment of public educational tasks by the sponsors and to ensure the long-term provision of high-quality school infrastructure. A purpose-bound use of the funds must be demonstrated by December 31 of the following year.

Eligible to apply are private compulsory schools and boarding schools with public law status or their sponsors, who document the number of students as of the key date December 31. Submission must take place within two months after this key date. The grant is awarded within the framework of the available state funds and is granted in accordance with the principles of economy, efficiency, and appropriateness. A renewed application in the following year requires proper proof of the designated use of funds.
