Lower Austria Investments and Measures by Organizations in the Fields of Environment, Energy, and Climate Protection

The State of Lower Austria supports organizations and private individuals in investments and measures in the fields of environment, energy, and climate protection. Projects that make a demonstrable contribution to resource and energy efficiency, promote the expansion of renewable energies, or highlight climate and environmental protection topics through awareness-raising actions are funded. Eligible applicants include natural and legal persons – such as companies, cooperatives, foundations, public institutions, and non-profit organizations – acting in accordance with the strategic objectives of the State of Lower Austria. Applications can be submitted continuously and offer uncomplicated funding for both large-scale projects and small projects up to 5,000 euros, with the latter able to be submitted up to six months after invoicing.

For approval as a non-repayable grant, written documents are required before the project begins: information about the applicants, a detailed project description, cost calculation, financing plan, and schedule. Eligible expenses include investment costs as well as expenditures for energy-saving measures, expansion of renewable energies, or public relations. The evaluation is based on the general funding guidelines of the State of Lower Austria and the specific guidelines for environment, energy, and climate protection. There is no legal entitlement to funding; instead, the grant depends on available budget funds and the alignment of the submitted projects with the objectives.
