Description
The funding program NOVUM – Ideas. simply. do! supports non-profit youth groups, self-managed youth clubs, and youth initiatives aged 14–27 based in Saxony in realizing their local project ideas. As a 100% grant of up to €1,500 per project, NOVUM funds measures in the areas of commitment to social cohesion/democracy, children and youth, as well as work and social affairs. This includes material and equipment costs, event and action costs, as well as renovation and furnishing measures in youth rooms. A jury continuously decides on incoming applications – usually within four weeks of receipt. Essential funding requirements are: novelty and needs-based design of the offer in the respective location, accessibility for as many young people as possible, sustainable impact beyond the project duration, realistic feasibility, project start only after funding approval, as well as democratic and inclusive project design. Projects already publicly funded elsewhere, purely school-related or voluntary service projects, private spaces, and purely construction projects are not funded.
Interested youth groups can submit their funding application at any time during the year. For the application, a cost and financing plan, a sponsor confirmation, the fund disbursement form, a final project report, and a list of receipts are required. The Saxon Youth Foundation supports applicants at all stages and offers assistance with the application process upon request. NOVUM creates the opportunity to actively shape one’s place of residence, open new meeting points, or realize innovative actions. The program awakens the creative engagement of young people and strengthens long-term participation in the community. Further information on funding modalities and required documents is available on the program page.
