Description

The volunteer award “Olsberg’s Best” annually honors outstanding commitment by young people aged 15 to 21 residing in the Olsberg city area. Interest groups or clubs may nominate up to two candidates; self-nominations are excluded. The award seeks young individuals whose voluntary efforts make a special contribution to social cohesion, the promotion of democracy, or the social sector. The jury primarily evaluates the extent of the volunteer engagement as well as any additional exceptional achievements outside of volunteering. With this initiative, the “Wir in Olsberg” Foundation promotes community spirit and recognizes exemplary responsibility among young citizens.

The following prizes are available for the awardees: 1st Prize: €500, 2nd Prize: €300, 3rd Prize: €200. Additionally, since 2019, a group prize of €100 has been awarded. Participation requires a fully completed application form, supplemented by confirmation from the nominating club or institution. Submissions must be made within the specified application deadline. A maximum of two nominations per club and competition year ensures fair opportunities. With this award, the citizens’ foundation sends a clear signal in support of volunteer role models and emphasizes the importance of young people’s voluntary initiatives for social cohesion in North Rhine-Westphalia.
