Description
The funding measure aims at the development and testing of novel robotics and automation methods directly on construction sites to implement energy-efficient renovations and new builds more quickly, precisely, and resource-efficiently. Across Europe, it opens up opportunities for public procurement bodies, companies, research institutions, and non-profit organizations to jointly design innovative solutions in consortia – ranging from 3D printing applications and adaptive robotic tools to integrated human-robot collaboration systems. With a total budget of up to €6,750,000 per project and a full funding rate of 100%, personnel costs, material expenses, subcontractor services, travel costs, as well as required equipment and infrastructure are covered. Important prerequisites include registration in the EU Participant Register with a validated PIC, experience in EU research projects, and participation in English-language market consultations and tenders. The submission deadline is from May 5 to September 15, 2027, 5:00 PM (Brussels time).
In addition to technical innovation, the focus is also on validation under real climate conditions: at least three demonstration projects must prove applicability for different building typologies. Evaluation criteria include the degree of innovation and technical progress, economic and ecological impacts, as well as feasibility and risk assessment. For the application, a project description, technical specifications, market analysis, tender documents, and the CV of the project lead must be submitted. A comprehensive dissemination and exploitation strategy should ensure that findings are rapidly incorporated into industry standards and norms. Through close collaboration with the Joint Research Centre, access to high-caliber infrastructure and scientific expertise is additionally available.
