Online Parent Evenings on Media Education – Hopp Foundation

The Hopp Foundation supports public and non-profit schools in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region with free online parent evenings on the topic of media education. The goal is to sustainably strengthen parental involvement in schools by providing parents with comprehensive information on age-appropriate media use, recommended usage times, and potential risks of digital offerings. In interactive sessions, the different media worlds of children and adolescents are explained, and practical prevention strategies as well as suitable contact points are conveyed. With a focus on education, training and further education, counseling, and digitization, the foundation supports schools in integrating competent and responsible use of digital media into everyday family life.

The funding is provided as a 100% grant and can be applied for continuously. Applicant institutions must be based in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and operate as public or non-profit schools. Through this low-threshold offer, teachers receive a reliable platform to actively involve parents and deepen media education competencies. The program contributes to schools further professionalizing their parental work in the field of media education and enabling parents to safely guide children and adolescents through the digital world.
