Description

openTransfer Klima is a funding format by the Bürgermut Foundation that brings together nonprofit organizations, interest groups, and associations nationwide, which are committed to socially just climate protection and supporting people particularly affected by the climate crisis. As a comprehensive program, it enables continuous grants for civil society engagement in the fields of climate protection, energy efficiency, as well as social cohesion and work & social affairs. Through the combination of barcamps, workshops, and other innovative formats, exchange, methodological competence, and best-practice transfer are specifically promoted to quickly disseminate successful approaches broadly and anchor them sustainably.

At the heart of openTransfer Klima are networking and qualification: barcamps provide space for participatory sessions where participants present their own projects and develop solutions together with experts. Complementary workshops impart practical methodological skills, while structured formats enable the systematic exchange of proven approaches. The goal is to strengthen climate-resilient communities and reduce social inequalities through inclusive climate protection strategies. Applications for funding can be submitted continuously, allowing initiatives to access financial support, professional guidance, and a vibrant network at any time – a springboard for courageous actors who wish to consistently link climate protection and social justice.
