Victim Emergency Call

The funding supports non-profit organizations and public institutions throughout Austria in financing the operation of the hotline 0800 112 112 – Europe’s victim helpline number 116 006 – as well as the associated online counseling. With grants for personnel costs, technical infrastructure, and communication expenses, a smooth and barrier-free access to immediate assistance is ensured. The goal is to enable particularly vulnerable groups equal access to justice and to provide expert support throughout all phases of the assistance process. The funding is provided on an indefinite basis, thereby guaranteeing continuous support.

Victims of crimes find here a central point of contact to exercise their rights and to receive initial psychological and legal counseling. The funds cover, among other things, salary payments for trained staff, the operation and maintenance of the digital platform, as well as costs for telephone and online communication. Applications can be submitted at any time, as the budget volume is not limited, thus offering flexible funding opportunities for initiatives that strengthen victim protection. This sustainable funding makes an important contribution to improving the social and health care of those affected and fosters trust in the justice system.
