Description

Orientation and Mobility Training in Vienna supports people with disabilities in independently entering the working world or securing an already commenced employment. Funding is provided for specialized training, which, in addition to orientation in the environment, also includes learning communicative and practical life skills. These trainings are covered exclusively when they are directly necessary for the initial commencement or exercise of a profession. The measure aims to reduce barriers in the work environment and sustainably strengthen professional participation. Due to the 100% subsidy rate, eligible individuals incur no personal costs for participation.

Eligible are private individuals with a degree of disability of at least 50% as well as adolescents up to the age of 24 with a degree of disability of at least 30%. In hardship cases, deviations from the regulations are possible if participation is crucial for maintaining or obtaining employment. Only expenses for orientation and mobility training and training to acquire communication and practical life skills are funded. Applications can be submitted continuously and are made to the Social Ministry Service in Vienna. The benefit is granted as a one-time subsidy without retroactive deadlines, whereby trainings already started before the application are generally not considered. Interested parties can find detailed information on requirements and procedures on the official websites of the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Social Ministry Service.
