Description
The state program supports political parties represented in the municipal councils of Upper Austria to strengthen democratic decision-making as well as political education at the district and municipal levels. Subject of the funding are personnel resources, material expenses, and public relations. The funds are granted as a one-time subsidy, divided into two semi-annual installments, and are intended to cover the necessary expenses for participation in democratic discourse and the communication of political content. Continuous application submission is possible, as the program is offered on an ongoing basis and an annual total budget of approximately 4.73 million euros is available.
Funding requirements include the timely submission of the application by December 31 for the following year and the signature of a duly authorized body of the respective state, district, or municipal party according to the statutes. Additionally, the account to which the funding is to be transferred must be specified. In the absence of a state party organization, a district or municipal party may sign and provide their bank details. Eligible expenses include personnel costs, material expenses, and public relations. The application must be accompanied by an informal financing request, the signature of the authorized body, and the bank details. The legal basis is the Upper Austrian Party Financing Act (LGBl. 25/1992, last amended by LGBl. 59/2023).
