Description

The Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) funds projects nationwide that significantly strengthen the participation in public affairs by organizations of persons with disabilities. Eligible to apply are legal entities under private and public law whose leadership and membership are predominantly composed of persons with disabilities. Funding is provided, among other things, for capacity building and empowerment for volunteer and full-time staff, promotion of young talent, organizational development including technical infrastructure, as well as disability-specific additional needs and assistance services. A prerequisite for the grant is a complete financing plan, proof of overall financing, and project commencement after the application submission.

With a duration of up to 36 months, up to 95% of eligible expenses can be covered as a grant. Excluded are municipal, regional, and sports-related individual measures. The funding guideline particularly enables the expansion of professional skills, the initiation of young leadership potential, and the compensation of additional expenses due to disabilities. Applications are submitted via the online portal of the commissioned Gesellschaft für soziale Unternehmensberatung mbH (gsub) eight weeks prior to the semi-annual meetings of the expert advisory board. Detailed provisions on the application procedure and eligible cost structure can be found in the funding guideline § 19 BGG and the supplementary BMAS action instructions.
