Sponsorships (by Opel Hessian Zoo Foundation / Opel Zoo)

The Opel Hessian Zoo Foundation provides nationwide sponsorships for animals and trees to strengthen nature, animal, and species conservation at the Opel Zoo. Private individuals, companies, and non-profit organizations can support projects in the areas of environmental and nature conservation, animal welfare, education for sustainable development, as well as energy efficiency and climate protection in this way. Basic animal sponsorships are available with annual contributions ranging from €25 to €2,500; additionally, premium sponsorships for individually selectable single animals are possible. For trees along the apple educational trail and other educational trails, annual contributions of €150 per tree apply. Sponsors receive a certificate with a photo; from €150 onwards, the name is displayed on a collective enclosure sign, from €500 a logo can be integrated, and premium sponsors enjoy an exclusive enclosure sign. The zoo magazine “Meso” is published twice a year, and for selected contributions, the foundation invites sponsors to a sponsorship celebration at the Opel Zoo.

The term of each sponsorship is 12 months and is automatically renewed unless canceled at least one month before expiration. Eligible applicants submit a completed sponsorship application, which is available at any time. The contributions flow entirely into species-appropriate care, feeding, and veterinary supervision. This continuous support makes an important contribution to training and further education, the preservation of endangered species, as well as the improvement of energy efficiency and climate protection measures in the zoo. Through the inclusive, straightforward process, close bonds develop between sponsors and the supported animal species and trees – a sustainable commitment to nature and the environment.
