Description

From October 1, 2024, the state of Burgenland will provide unlimited grants for Personal Assistance in private daily life. Private individuals with their main residence in Burgenland, who have reached the age of 14 but have not yet exceeded the age of 65, will receive support provided that a degree of disability of at least 50% is present or, in the case of intellectual or psychological impairments, a need for assistance can be credibly demonstrated. Activities supported include basic care (e.g., getting up, dressing and undressing, personal hygiene), household management (laundry, cleaning, shopping), mobility, communication, as well as leisure and cultural activities. The grants cover exclusively the costs for Personal Assistance; material, travel, and accommodation costs are not considered.

Applications can be submitted continuously without a deadline. In addition to the established degree of disability and the age range, prerequisites include a lawful residence of at least five years or Austrian citizenship or entitlement to asylum, as well as actual residence in Burgenland. Persons in residential facilities or under 24-hour care are not eligible for funding. The following documents must be attached to the application: copy of the disability pass, report from the Social Ministry Service, proof of lawful residence (if applicable), confirmations from partial or semi-residential facilities or educational institutions, proof of approved assistance hours, and proof of authorization of representation. The responsible authority for processing is Department 6 – Division for Social Benefits and Disability Affairs of the Burgenland State Government. Interested persons can find all necessary forms and information in the application form “Personal Assistance (PAP/PAA)” as well as in the corresponding guideline of the state of Burgenland.
