Land Burgenland

The Social Benefits Department 1.1 within the Main Department of Social Affairs of the Burgenland State Government is responsible for the administration and coordination of essential social funding programs and services in Burgenland. These include, among others, the Burgenland Social Assistance as well as special funding programs such as "Assisted Living Plus" and subsidies for care and social support services. The department ensures that applications for social benefits under the Burgenland Social Assistance Act are reviewed, approved, and disbursed. It works closely with other divisions (Care, Integration, Family Support) to guarantee comprehensive support for those in need.

Our goal is to allocate needs-based social services and funding efficiently and transparently, to promote social participation, and to alleviate situations of poverty. We see ourselves as a professional point of contact for providers, municipalities, and citizens, working in a solution-oriented manner towards an equitable and solidaristic society.

The target group includes all residents of Burgenland who, due to age, need for care, income situation, or special life circumstances, rely on social support. This includes elderly people entitled to care allowance, persons with disabilities, financially disadvantaged families and single parents, as well as care and support service providers in private organizations. The funding programs aim to secure quality of life, promote independence, and prevent social isolation.
