Description

In Styria, the state supports operators of childcare facilities in the compulsory childcare year with a full compulsory year contribution replacement. The goal is to provide free half-day care for children for at least 30 hours per week, without charging parental fees. As a grant, the measure fully covers personnel costs with a funding rate of 100 %. The funding opportunity is ongoing and responds flexibly to new establishments: For starting with the compulsory childcare year, an application via the electronic system KIN-WEB must be submitted by October 1 at the latest, or, in case of later commencement, within two weeks after the start date.

The measure is aimed at public institutions, non-profit organizations, and companies operating facilities for children and youth in social and labor market-related contexts. A prerequisite is operation during the compulsory childcare year, offering half-day care of at least 30 hours per week, and waiving parental fees. Eligible funding items exclusively include personnel expenses, with the informal application via KIN-WEB serving as the only required document. Approval is granted indefinitely, based on the agreement pursuant to Art. 15a B-VG and the Styrian Childcare Funding Act 2019. Operators receive planning security through this funding and can offer the compulsory childcare year free of charge to families.
