Description
Phuntsok Tsering Scholarship offers an ongoing award for exceptionally talented individuals from Tibet and the Himalayan region to pursue the Master's program "Indology and Tibetology" at the University of Hamburg. Nationally funded by the Tibethaus Cultural Foundation, the program aims to academically train outstanding students – including graduates of traditional monastic universities – and to sustainably support the preservation of Tibetan culture. Designed as a prize and award, it covers not only tuition fees but also a contribution to living expenses, thereby creating the conditions to combine native knowledge with contemporary science.
Eligible to participate are private individuals with verifiable origins from Tibet or the Himalayan region who provide admission or application for the aforementioned Master's program and can demonstrate a degree from a traditional monastic university or an equivalent qualification. Applications can be submitted at any time and undergo a transparent selection process that equally honors academic excellence and cultural commitment.
