Description
The Erwin Warth Foundation for Flora, Fauna, and Environment supports nationwide non-profit initiatives and institutions that implement pioneering species protection and nature conservation projects with scientific supervision. Funding is provided for projects that create an immediate added value for the preservation of natural habitats through habitat management, the ecological transformation of agriculture, or environmental education measures. Particular focus is placed on projects that are effective in the long term, based on solid research foundations, and actively involve children and young people. As a sponsor, the funding authorities continuously seek pioneering projects that combine innovation with sustainability and address current challenges in energy and climate protection, education for sustainable development, agricultural development, as well as social cohesion.
Eligible for funding are non-profit corporations recognized in Germany or public law entities, including registered associations, municipalities, municipal special-purpose associations, schools, universities, community foundations, as well as scientific institutions and research consortia. Submissions must include a detailed fact sheet on the project scope, a precise presentation of compliance with the funding criteria (degree of innovation, sustainability, species and nature conservation impact, involvement of young people), and a transparent investment and financing plan indicating the requested funding amount. Supplementary documents such as media clippings or lists of links may be optionally attached. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and undergo a multi-stage selection process that evaluates the scientific quality as well as the broad impact of the projects.
