Description
For over six decades, the Willy Scharnow Foundation for Tourism has supported outstanding commitment in tourism education and annually honors graduates with an overall grade of "very good." From 1960 to 2007, tourism clerks were the focus; since 2008, the award has been extended to include clerks for tourism and leisure. The distinction recognizes top achievements and strengthens young talent in an industry that demands both professional competence and service quality. The foundation usually receives nominations directly from the Chambers of Industry and Commerce but recommends an independent application to ensure consideration of all potential awardees.
The application requires the following documents: a copy of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce final certificate with the overall grade "very good," details of the private address, as well as the name and address of the training company. Submissions can be made at any time, as the award is continuously offered and granted annually for all examination cohorts. Selection is based exclusively on the criterion of an overall grade of "very good." Active participation ensures that all qualified graduates are appropriately recognized and benefit from the lasting public impact of this award.
